I purchased a 2003 S-type with the premium sound system, but got it used. So I don't have all the details of the sound system. I'm trying to install a Parrot MKi9200 Bluetooth system and I found a wiring harness for it. But it only works if the stereo is non-amplified. I had previously looked into the Jaguar Audio Module, but the dealer ran my VIN and told me that my stereo wasn't within the range where the module would work.

So my question is, is there a way to tell if my system in amplified or non-amplified without paying someone to pull the stereo out and look at the back?

Do you have a cd changer.if so sometimes it's tucked beside it ..it could also be under the rear deck.I do know i dont have prem sound and it is my head unit that is amped.

 

Yes, I have a 6 disc changer. It's located in the trunk.

That's just the head unit, in the back right beside the changer (mind you I have the wagon) is the 320W amp in a premier system.
