NDC DVD Unit Error

NDC DVD Unit Error
Hi
My X-type navigation system is reporting that the DVD is not a map-dvd.
The DVD unit is taking the disc and spins it for 2-3 seconds when inserted, but that's it.
I assume it's either the motor moving the laser pickup or the pickup itself.
If I go into the diagnostics and run a check, I get the following
NDC DVD Unit Error

Does anyone know what this means?
The disc itself has been verified ok in another jag.
