No sound from my stereo-S Type 2005 4.2

Hello,
I'm a newbie to this forum and to the pains and joys of owning a Jaguar.
I had this 2005 S Type 4.2 for about 5 months. I find this car to be a delight to drive but I couldn't get over the reliability concern just yet. The car was fixed at the dealership before I bought it because it had a transmission problem (when downshifting from 4th to 3rd gear the gears were "sticking" as I was explained and I was able to hear a noise that sounded like a rubber bushing going bad). They flushed the transmission and cleaned it with a special additive and now I'm not supposed to change the fluid again. This is recommended by the manufacturer to be done no more then once. What if this thing returns? The price was good on the car (better then an Accord or Maxima with comparable mileage). The bluetooth has always worked in an unpredictable way (at times i would have to restart the car to be able to connect with my phone). All throughout the fall the traction controll ligh will come and stay on after diving for a while. I read somewhere that this may have something to do with the breaks overheating. The breaks are in good shape and I do not break excessive for that to happen, however in wintertime that problem didn't occur.
Now I have this thing with the stereo. I have the Alpine sound with 10 speakers and what happens is, I see that the radio, CD changer, CD player working but there is no sound coming out off the speakers. I didn't fiddle with anthing pertaining to the sound system (or other systems for that matter) so my main suspect was the amp. I pulled it out but I am a mechie and not much of an electrician. I didn't see anything burnt or disconnected. I tried to reconnect all the connectors (because I don't know what else to do). One other thing is that the bluetooth now says "No Phone" so it's not working anymore (not that I would be able to use it under the circumstances).
Any help, ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks
