The amp is under the rear parcel shelf on some models.

 

Same in S type? How do you get to it?

 

If its an 04- its behind the trim on the LH side of the boot.
If its pre 2004 its in with the subs under the parcel shelf as far as I know.

 

Thanks a lot, Buck! I found thespot but... the amp is missing!! [:@](I bought the car a few months ago...). Any advice on a good cost effective aftermarket amp that fits the spot?

 

The amp talks to the head unit and other units (speedo etc) via unique fibre optic cabling so it would need to be a Jag Cd amp unless changing the head unit too as far as I know.When I upgraded to the premium system in mine I get an error on the speedo as the amp needs to be coded to the car (security) via a dealer.Other stereo upgrades I read about havent had to do this so I must have been unlucky or the amp I got must have been removed from the donor car while the battery was connected causing the error.Still works though most of the time.Occasionally have to turn ignition off and on if sound stops.Will be getting this fixed hopefully at the X type seminar next Friday or if not will pay £50 at dealer to do it.

 

Great post, Buck, thanks a lot. I guessI'll try to find a used or NOS Jaguar amp (any ideas as to where lo look for?) and do thenew instalation. I'll let you know.
