if you do a seach on ACM on the forum you should find a guide on this. I am not sure how readily available the units are anymore but this would be your best route, as it will add usb and phono to your system. I have always just used the rear entertainment in the back to attach iphone to then away you go without having to install anything fancy.

well i have a long rca cable with a rca to stereo adapter on the end they only cost around a pound or a buck. I plug the Rca into the rear entertainment console and select the audio source to be aux input 1 or 2 depending which side you plugged it in. Then you make sure the button for car speakers is selected which is in the middle top of the console think it is a speaker button and might be a number key not sure if it is both. Then you just turn the stereo up and away you go. Then i just put my iphone or ipod on seat on in cup holder and away you go. Just sit in the back of the car if this doesnt work and have a fiddle with the buttons encase i got instructions wrong. I use this rather than buying the expensive ACM because it normally just use cds i only use this when have wife in car and she wants her ipod on as doesn't like my music tasteso its 5 bucks over 100 odd for the ACM

Once you have the ACM you can go the whole route and install a mimics unit
This will give you the iphone or android mirrored on the nav screen
You can then also use your nav touch screen to control the phone
