Anyone have a good idea on where to place the tweeters of a pair of splits, before I start chopping away the door trim?
I dont know if there is a place or panel available like that on the XJ.
The only thing that I can think of is on the leather vertical panel above the armrest, just below the timber trim.

 

if i were you, i would mount them in a custom plate next to the main driver behind the grille, if you did 6" ones there is enough room. If not, you could always redo the A-pillar to house the tweeter. I wouldnt want to cut the door out, personnally. I think replacement A-pillars for our STR are like 30 dollars on ebay. Much cheaper than buying new door panels.

You blokes are certainly very knowledgeable.

I will follow your advise and leave the leather panel alone and place the tweeters on the base of the A pillar as they appear to fit.

I am using using a pair of JVC 300w 6.5" carbon/kevlar woofers I had lying around and am unable to squeese the tweeters along side.

I must ask your advise as to what you would think would complement these front splits for the rear doors?
