Sorry I missed the above post. There are plenty of places to eat close by, but if a quick and easy, but good meal is okay, HARS have a pretty good cafe on-site. If a good, but substantial meal is preferred, it would be good if those intending to come for the day, could advise what type of food they prefer, i.e. Thai, Chinese, Club fare, pub meals (although could be a bit 'iffy' on quality as I haven't been to any around there), or any other preferences. Thai and Chinese are pretty big around there and it isn't far to Shellharbour, where restaurants abound. Please try to make it for the day.

Thanks Bill, how about you pick a place for lunch with a meeting time of 12pm and a location for an early start to check out the museum and anything else you can think of....it gives people the option of all day or just lunch...........
I’m in for the day.

Hi Jim. I think I have a venue that would be okay. I originally hoped for the Albion Park RSL, which does a good range of meals and has a large, safe car park, however they are renovating for 7 weeks. I am thinking of a good Chinese restaurant in Oak Flats (only a couple of kms away from HARS) and apparently Chinese places are suffering from lack of customers lately. This one can take us as a small or large group (to be confirmed). It is: Lucky Inn Chinese Restaurant, 47A Central Ave, Oak Flats NSW 2529. Hope all will like Chinese food. Let's put it up and, if necessary, I can change to a Thai one in Albion Park.

I hope we can get a few starters, as we really enjoyed the last one (our first).
Cheers,
Bill

Well done Bill, what if we meet at the museum at 11am then lunch at the restaurant at 12.30 for those who may just want to meet for lunch.

Under the current circumstances I think we should postpone our Meet/lunch to a future date! What do you think?
Few sniffles around here and maybe the safest bet.

I'm happy with that. I was going g to leave it until today to make a comment, but Daff11e and Jim have beaten me to it. As we only had 4 definite starters and 4 possibles, and with all the hullabaloo around this flu thing, a postponement is the right thing to do. The whole thing has put a huge dent into my planned (annual) visit to Thailand for Anzac Day, mainly due to having to self-isolate for 2 weeks on return.Bugger! I will try to get over there a bit later in the year.

A shame we have to postpone the meeting, but maybe we'll get more starters when the pandemic action is somewhat reduced.

Yeah probably for the best...we did have Glyn and family coming as well but later in the year is sensible, let’s let it pan out Bill.

Sounds like a good idea. I might be a bit restricted though, as I fractured my spine in a couple of places about 2 1/2 months ago and only found out that it was broken a few weeks ago, when the pain hadn't subsided much. No surgery is required, but I have to take it very easy and cannot have a fall or it will be very serious. The pain gets me a bit in this bloody cold weather, but Spring might see it improve as it gets warmer. Take care and I hope others are enthusiastic.

Sounds good but I'm immuno compromised so I'm not doing indoor venues for who knows how long. Outdoor is fine.

Maybe a nice flat beer garden is the answer for both of you?

Mate, my spine is being a real bitch and I can't do much yet. The weather isn't assisting. I've got a few scratches on my car that need work, but it has to wait. At the moment I just can't get out too much, but am happy to try and get to wherever is chosen by any others. Not much enthusiasm from the members these days and in these bloody rainy conditions. Take care all,
Bill
