Default Meetings

Hi All,
Wouldn't it be great if some of us got together for a a run one day in the near future........say, Hunter Valley Area
Bathurst Area
Goulburn Area
These locations are suggestions as a day's round trip would be both achievable and enjoyable. I would be more than happy to coordinate all facets ie; Lunch etc. Farther down the track we could coordinate an overnight trip and catch up with our interstate colleagues..........Wouldn't that be a great weekend.

I am open to any suggestions, so let's get the ball rolling!!!

I might be interested in meeting up if you take the run down to Goulburn.

Won't be in my Jaguar though :-(

Ok the time has come, my baby has gone in for a tune up and a full check over during winter......all those mechanical niggles will be fixed. The aim is for a day run in spring (September) and because the first one to show interest is jim5_0 "we'll make it Goulburn".
It would be great if we can get a few members together and meet for lunch and a chat at a cafe in town...."I'll even shout lunch" let's throw some dates around.
"LETS MAKE IT HAPPEN !"

Hope you can get something started Jim. We look forward to our runs down here and the QLD'rs always seem to be having a good time also.

I'll just keep asking Steve in the hope I get "ONE" starter, then maybe some will follow.

Jim, when we have something in the planning I send out PM's to all the members on the roll call list(you can message 25 at a time). First off when the thread is started, then two months before, one month before. I also add a link to the thread as well as links to any new ones we have started.

We get the 3 or 4 usual suspects at all the runs, and have had 21 members out on various meets we have had. We started out with getting 3 or 4, now we are in the 7-10 members.
It takes a while to build the numbers, but as people get to know each other and become friends the numbers grow.

I try to have 2 or 3 events in the planning, usually doing different things. People come along to the ones they like the sound of.

Once the Air Museum day is over I will start pushing the All British Day.

I also have pictures of all our outings in one thread so members can see what we do without having to search multiple threads. Good luck with organising the first run.

Edit: Giving the thread a bump about 7-8pm the Friday and Saturday a week before seems to add a couple to the numbers, I pick that time because the northern hemisphere guys are quiet and the post stays on the homepage for a while. Also members who are not on as often as us more than likely have a look on the weekends.

When he spots a Jaguar, Admin Jim has recently taken to accosting complete strangers in car parks and inviting them to the next forum meeting.

Perhaps not the recommended technique for everyone but at well over 6 ft tall and built like a brick s***house, he gets away with it.

If you ever want a meeting thread set as 'sticky' to keep it at the top of the browse list, just send me a PM.

You got your "one" starter Jim, looks like you are up for at least the price of two lunches!

Grab the opportunity, set a date and destination, then send out PM's to all on the roll call list and see what happens. I reckon Cambo may jump on board.

I'm probably still up for a trip to Goulburn.

I'm doing a trip to Hill Top tomorrow after work to pick up a motorbike engine.

We stop at Goulburn on the way up (visiting Grandkids, and even their parents) to avoid entering sin city near peak. Bit lean on nice venues, but Bowral has quite a few as its quite gentrified these days.

That would also give you the option of Macquarie Pass, back along the the coast and the Nurburgring of the South , the Royal Nasho Park :-)

Pity we are just getting back from Hols in September or we could have come up on another grandkids spoil and run adventure. You are on notice we may turn up at future events. Good luck with the run, we had one with just three , it was fine for lunch and a chat. If some more turn up its a bonus.

Paragon Cafe in the main street is a bit of an institution.

I can ask my best mate as his niece lives in Goulburn.

Paragon sounds ok but please ask your mate as I would like to buy you both a nice lunch.....as far as any other location I think we'll stick with Goulburn for the first one as its a straight forward run.....over lunch we can discuss the next one.
And Steve anytime your heading up within cooee of Sydney let me know.

Paragon used to be cool. We stopped there often in ancient times on regular runs down to Corowa. Back then it was milk bar/burgers but with great old style (almost art deco) decor. Good knows what it is today. Happy to hear it still lives :-)

We will probably do something soon after we get back from NZ. Be surprised if we arent up there in October or November. What side of the Megopolis are you on?
