Hi All, today I was unfortunate to return to my ‘73 XJ6 with a new small dent in the front left wing headlight surround. The gentleman who did it was waiting for me next to the car (nice bloke). Turns out he’s my son’s friend’s grandad.

He has offered to pay for repairs and avoid insurance, which I’m happy with as he’s a known quantity.

My car could do with a total respray so there is little point getting a colour matched repair, so I’m looking for a wing in reasonable condition.

Can any of the Aussie crowd help out?

Woz, over the last few months I have seen 2 on EBay for sale, one Blue and one yellow......guess you'd hit them with white primer till your car is ready for paint, Good Luck maybe someone has one.

 

Woz, there are a couple of series 1 fenders on Gumtree at present. Located in Melbourne and I think they want $150 ea. This is a good price - I paid $400 for a good used series 1 fender 25 years ago! I would buy them myself if I were a bit closer. Are you able to paint yourself? I have successfully repaired bumps on my car and sprayed them myself in Acrylic. Could do the same for you if you are willing to put up with an amateur job.
