Hello all,
Just feeling the water for a Sunshine Coast Hinterland drive one a Sunday in October. I am thinking a Mid morning meet up at the Ettamogah Pub,Bruce Highway,Palmview. Then a drive through the hinterland to the Mapleton Tavern(ocean views) for lunch. I pick Mapleton because finding 1 car space in Maleny or Monteville is hard on the quietest sunday. Mapleton tavern has a reasonable carpark and ample street parking.
And anyone heading back to Brisbane after lunch can take the Mt Mee Tourist drive from Woodford to Samford Valley on the way home.



Just remember the "Great Race"(Bathurst 1000) is on Sunday the 12th Oct, and the Phillip Is Moto GP is on Sunday the 19th. I am keen for any weekend,will just have to record the races. 26th has nothing on, the big races are over and AFL Grand final is on the All British Weekend. NRL Grand Final is Oct 5

October 26th does not clash with any of the 4 sporting majors.

I am a starter for any of those dates. If no one responds My wife and I will enjoy a Sunday drive on our own.

My car is a coupe so family of 5 dont fit. Will take maybe the kids or just my eldest boy but if they wont be able to get into the Tavern ill just come alone. ☺

Phew, nearly had to pull the pin on this day. Turns out I agreed to babysit my nepthews two boys this weekend. But my daughter is going to look after them on the Sunday for us.
Worst case is I will have to bring a mate in place of the wife! Old car,pub,road trip?
He is probably a better fit anyway.

We went to the Mapleton Tavern today to sit out the rain before setting up camp. The view on their website is exactly what you see from the verandah. Checked out the parking, 20-30 car parks behind and plenty of on street parking as well . Passed through Monteville, you would never find spots for a few cars there.
And had a chat to a few bikers there as well.

Me!(but I'm a sucker) I'll drive/ride anywhere with, or to see people with a common interest.
Kove (Neil) is going to be out of the country, may a bit far north for Puneyman(Brandt) from the Gold Coast. Champir (Rob) may be a starter,he lives just near where we got Goose's rego sorted.
There are a few members on the Sunshine Coast but they haven't responded to PM's. I may be able to round up a Triumph Stag and a couple of other old cars to come along, doesn't have to be all Jags.

Still no other takers Paul, so I reckon if you get to The meeting point at 10 am and order 3 beers,a Sav Blanc and 2 raspberry lemonades (for your boys) I should save myself a couple of bucks.
