2015 Meet Up and Run #3
#21
Count me in for Sep 13th. Near as damn it in my backyard! How could I say no.
I have some suggestions for a good driving route that includes start at Mornington, up to Arthur Seat (photo shoot at the top) from Dromana, over to Flinders for a coffee break (and the Chocolate Shop), then the Boneo Road from Flinders to the back of Rosebud and up to Arthurs Seat again so we get to drop down into Dromana before heading off the the winery for lunch. About 3 hours with stops, 4 hours if you want to have a good morning tea break.

Just so your partner knows, the girls usually come and have a good time (usually the noisy end of the table :-)
Have been eyeballing the Winton date and trying to keep the day clear. Will be up if at all possible. Have been there on Porsche Club days and its been good fun, would like to see the Jags around there.

For everyone else out there (600 views and 6 starters?) please free to come along. Its just lunch, not a lifetime committment :-) We have a nice group of easy going people, a winery, and some Jags....what could possibly go wrong?
PS: MIKEY!!! where are you?

Thanks Mark, sounds good. Can you have a think about a plan that allows Melb locals to play in the morning and maybe has a meet up point 30-60mins from the winery? Some of us will have already be going 2.5 hours to get to the Peninsula and have the same back, so a short option in the middle would be good.
We can have a common starting point in Mornington (Cafe Precinct) at around 10 am, for coffee to leave at say 11 to 11:30 am. The short drive along the foreshore to Dromana, up to Arthur's Seat, then on to the winery for lunch. Allow about one hour if you want to stop and admire the view from Arthur's Seat.
For those who want to be a bit more adventurous, start at the same place, Coffee Traders Cafe, 3 Blake St, Mornington, but earlier, say 8 am for brekkie (good bacon & eggs and coffee). Then Dromana, Arthur's Seat, Shoreham, Flinders (with a stop for coffee at the chocolate shop), Boneo Road toward Cape Shanck, Browns Road and Purves Road back to Arthur's Seat, descend to Dromana, then Boundary Road (and others) back to Red Hill and the winery.
Full version map here: https://goo.gl/maps/UK1Xi
If we leave at Mornington at 9:30 am, we will have time to stop at Arthur's Seat for the view and photos, then also at Flinders for the coffee. Allow an hour plus for a relaxing photo session and coffee break. Then we should make the winery about midday.

Also have 4 of these for sale if anyone is interested:
They cost me $25.00 each so you can have one for the same. They come with a black ballpoint as standard. I have upgraded mine to a Schneider Slider 755 XB blue. Very smooth and gel like without the smudge! I can provide one of these for another $12.00 each, which is what I paid for them at Tafts.
I will bring them along to the cruise so you can check them for yourself.

We have hit the reset the button on this run.
Due to multiple absences with overseas trips, illness, other committments we are doing a simple run meeting at Yarra Glen, going of for a run around the hills and some photos, then back to Yarra Glen for lunch. Just 3 cars at the moment.
Anyone interested , just let us know.
We will get together again in November once everyone is back on deck and all the girls can come along.

Hi Aron
Would be nice to have a new face join us , so you would be most welcome.
This one is fairly simple. Meeting up in front of the Grand Hotel at 10AM for coffee. Head off for a lap of the hills to return to the same venue for lunch.
Normally we have a larger group with partners but as my earlier note says many people are away or unavailable for this run.
Just 3 blokes at the moment. If your partner doesnt mind that they are of course welcome or just come yourself, whatever suits you.
Let us know if you want to come as we have to have numbers for the Grand which is popular on weekends.

Just back from our mini run and lunch. Went via Sugarloaf Dam, King Lake, Toolangi, Healesville and back to Yarra Glen. Great weather and felt like every motorbike and club car in Melbourne was circulating somewhere (note part of a gaggle of Porsches in the background of the top pic)
Bit hard to keep up with the XF, but he was kind to us and let us catch upfrom time to time :-)
Here is some engine **** and one shot of the cars. Hopefully the other guys will post some as well. Tony's new toy is a very mint S3, looks in very nice condition.
Thanks for coming out guys.
One of these is not the same!!

And you weren't really trying to keep up! I had a tech advantage with the satnav indicating the tight turns ahead. After all, it was a nice Sunday drive and no rush.
BTW, on the way home, the road over the back of the Dandenongs (C411) had a random drug and alcohol station testing both directions at Cockatoo (I think). Minor delays and I was waved through anyway.
Looking forward to the next one.
