Talking Western Australian Jag owners

G'Day Mat
Not from WA but that doesn't mean I cannot say hello. And I'm only 3000Ks away as the crow flies, opposite side of the island.

You could always take your jag to Roadbend Jag and it would probably be the look on your face after they have a look!

Call in if your going past,I'm just 150ks away from the big water on this side..

Cheers,Neil.

And if you want carry on around the coast road just skip by Sydney up to Brisbane, only 2000 km north from from Gippsland. And we have members another 1400 km north of me in Townsville,if you find someone in Darwin you can whip across to top of the island on your way home.

Clarke,

Ya stole my road map. That is so close a carbon copy of where we went twice in the XJ-S.

Some REAL Jag friendly roads in that lot, NOT. Those up around Pt Headland were totally crazy in the XJ-S.

Getting itchy feet again, might need a road trip, but which Jag?. With all the HOO-HAA about the S Types, maybe time to prove a point, mmm.

Grant,
The Jeep is the weapon of choice when we go north or west from Brisbane, then again it has been south as well, Even cut a couple of hot laps of the mountain course last trip deep into "cat_as_trophy" country. And I took pictures with my right hand while weaving through the dipper.(I did leave the camper trailer in the pit lane though)

With the state of the exhaust Lady J is grounded. Holes and twisted exhaust pipes and to top that who ever attacked it last time welded the joint with a sleeve no less behind the header as it goes under the firewall. Looks like Captain Dodgy at it again. In the process of gentle extracting the exhaust out of the donor its in perfect condition so a gently approach needed.

Default Greetings Matt

Greetings Matt ... and wow ... what a bunch you have accumulated in this thread.

Sad to hear that Lady J is "resting up" at this time but I'm sure that with exhaust repaired, she'll be back purring again soon.

Matt, I'm in the process of posting to RobB, Stuart, and other Jaguar Lovers also over your way, to encourage you fellas to stir the pot a bit locally. Why not take up Jim's suggestion to post into his "roll call" thread ... as well as raising interest among other WA Jag owners (whether exotic or classic), it helps those of us around Oz to keep in touch with you.

Otherwise, how else can we bring you pics of an ex Kiwi, Queenslander (and thoroughly nice fella) punting a Jeep (!) around Mt Panorama Bathurst like it's some kinda race car ... No wonder his XJ6 Miss Fireball blazes with indignation!

Best wishes,
Ken

We have just bought our first Jaguar, a delightful S - Type, 2000 V6 auto with 190k on the clock. She is in beautiful condition and i think it's the beginning of a beautiful relationship. I only just joined the forum and imagine my surprise to find not only am Australian cohort, but a Western Australian one. And Mad Matt, I live in Boyanup as well. Get the fek out of town...

Welcome Barbara Kay from Boyanyup ... and greetings also to your fellow Jag owner down the road Mad Matt ... Imagine this ... Mad Matt, Barbara and their clans having a Jaguar Owners meet in the main street of Boyanyup ... warm day; cool drinks; admiring each other's Jags ... does it get any better than this?

Great to see you joining the tribe, and a great choice of Jaguar (well, maybe I'm just a tad biased). As you can see from these threads, action around the Australian regions is simmering along nicely. So, jump in and share. the only thing that can be better than building that relationship with your car ... must be the joy of sharing the passion with others who feel the same.

Lots of knowledge and resources here Barbara. Remember to jump into the S-Type forum "Stickies" armed with your MY(2000) and VIN number, look for the FAQ "How to ..." section, and download anything and everything you find relevant to your model.

Anything else Barbara ... yell
Ken

Hi Shaun (nice to see it spelt correctly too). XJS V12,nice toy to play with.
Not sure a bout HE parts.
The South Australia regional coordinator,Grant Francis would be the guy to ask. If they are about he will know which rock to look under. Or ask your questions in the XJS forum, plenty of experts there to answer your questions including Grant.

Hi Shaun,
Welcome - I'm just up the road from you in The Vines!

Love what you're planning - I had two XJS' (5.3 & 6.0) modified with manual gear boxes, manifold/exhaust and much else done.
They are simply awesome machines when sorted - last time the 5.3 went on the track, it seriously traumatised a couple of 911 owners at Goodwood.

Wish I could offer parts and knowledge, but I'm more of a driver than an engineer.
Seriously suggest looking up the local Jag club though - they meet at clubrooms in Osborne Park.
There are plenty of knowledgeable people there, both amateur and professional, who work on their cars.

Cheers,

Rob
