Throttle control unit
Hello all, new member and a new problem ( for me).
We have a very original 2000 S type V-6 that is giving us grief. Occassionally, the Fail Safe Engine warning is illuminated in the Led display and it is sometimes , but not always , followed by engine indication. When the engine light is on and the codes read, the codes. P1584 , P 1589 and P 1233 come up which is Throttle body failure and Fuel Delivery system disabled or inoperative.
i have been told by several people that the Throttle body assembly is obsolete . Is it possible that the Throttle position sensor is the problem and if so, are they available?
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
