Default Toronto Jaguar Concours! (FUN the type)

I just thought, Jaguar made a C-type, D-type and E-type.
Now they make the F-type.
Could it be the "F" stands for "Fun-Type"?
Well, speaking of fun I invite all and sundry to attend this years Jaguar Club Concours d'Elegance, but in case you think that to be stuffy, remember I am the chair this year so it HAS to be the "Fun-Type".

Anyone interested in seeing the "F-Type" in the metal should keep posted here. I am working on getting one to be there. We have good support from Jaguar Canada and they treat us well. We have had new models before so I am hoping to repeat this with the F-type.

Oh yeah, and as an added bonus attending the concours means a first hand meeting with the worlds most eccentric man!

Anyone who wants info or has questions post here and ask away.

Cheers!

Wow I can't believe I forgot the date... I had to go back and check to make sure I hadn't posted it.
I was having so much fun with it that I neglected a little thing here or there.

So then, Sunday June 23rd at the Ontario Science Centre north parking lot.
Go in the main gate and tell them you are going to the Jag show.
If you get there before 9 AM you might be able to get in free but I may put you to work LOL.

SO if you want to have a fun day showing your car in friendly competition, OR you want to get serious, either one will suit you fine.

So stay tuned folks I will post the entry rates and the cost for a fabulos dinner with a bunch of Jag Phreaks and a day of really nice cars!

As I say, stay tuned. I will get this done in the next 24 hours or so.

OK, tomorrow after the Ancaster British car flea market, I will post the pertinent info.
For those going to Ancaster, ask for me at booth 45, the OJOA booth.
They will know where to find me.

Default The Fun-Type is (MAYBE) coming

Can't believe I have to keep you all waiting here.
But it will be worth it for sure. I am waiting for last minute changes to be finalized......

We are working on getting the F-Type and some new model Jags to appear.
I am sure I heard an exec say...."OK we will"
But I have to make him repeat it, so bear with me.

F-Type means "Fun-Type"

Well my car is a excellent daily driver but by no means a concourse quality car, should I enter it?

You both would be surprised at how well you could do.
Why not enter "Driven" class? That's what it is for, cars that are "driven" daily.

Hmm... driven class huh, didn't notice that before, but it's still under the JCNA category... something to consider. But I'll probably just go the 'display' route this year, as its my first time with your OJOA guys, scope the cars out and consider competing in next years show...

Wow you are not going to be very popular with the directors of OJOA if all the banished members of OJOA took you up on your offer and turned up that weekend. At my last count that would involve at least five ex"long time members" who are not welcome anymore. I also don't think any of them ever received reasons for their banishments, just poof you’re gone.

That is unless of course OJOA have decided to turn the page and let bygones’ be bygones. Diminishing membership sometimes has that effect on decisions.

However for those of you on the eastern side of Toronto. "The friendly club", Ottawa Jaguar club are holding their Concours the same day. Theirs is a mixed meet being staged at the aircraft museum in Ottawa. Jaguar Ottawa will also be there with their line up of cars and there are a number of other collector car clubs also involved. Mercedes Benz, Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, BMW, Porsche, Titosi and de Tomasco. Of course not to forget the aircraft museum itself will also be open to visitors. It will be a real enjoyable day with lots to see for all the family.

Bob, after our chance meeting recently I came away believing that anything that you suffered in the past would have nothing to do with me and that we could enjoy an aquaintance in Jaguars and the occasional meeting at events and let the past stay there.

That said, I really don't think that a public forum is an appropriate place to bring up such things nor is it a good idea to speak for others. This is just not mannerly. I will state here only because you brought it up that there are in fact two sides to every story which I am sure that every intelligent reader of this forum would be aware.

Again, This IS NOT the place to deal with these things as it comes off as a blatant attempt to
co-opt the innocent who want nothing more than to enjoy their cars with other people. I would never think of trying to rain on your posting with the ottawa event.
Lets both have great events and enjoy.

Bob, I really would like to have a chat with you over a pint some time.
I am not far from you and surely we can at least be at peace.
Will you be going to "Brits in the park"? Perhaps we can talk privately there.

Look for a PM from me soon.

Cheers.

I have to agree with Duane on this one.

This sounds like a grievance with a lot of history that will not be resolved here, PM's and maybe that beer sound like the way to go.
