Default Car wash in winter

During the winter months when it is below freezing most of the time, how does everyone keep their cars clean? I don't have a heated garage and I was wondering how harmful a commercial car wash might be. Looking for advice. Thanks.

+1......Do NOT use a commercial or drive thru car wash if you want your paintwork intact and swirl free for any length of time.
Do it yourself or use a coin operated jetwash to take the worst of the dirt off and leave it at that
