Default Detailed my XKR

Spent last weekend detailing my car...a day and a half of work.

Vacuumed the interior and washed all of the leather and plastic surfaces. Finished off the leather surfaces with Lexol.

Washed the tires and rims and cleaned the rims with Zaino Z-A10. Dressed the tires with Zaino Z16.

Washed and clayed the car. Polished with a D/A and Meguires M205-- I didn't get all the swirls out because I was afraid to be too aggressive--but the paint looked a lot better.

Cleaned with Zymol HD Cleanse--easy to apply but a pain in the a** to wipe off.

Applied Zumol Titanium wax by hand...meaning bare hands as per directions. Aside from getting a ration of s**t from my wife about massaging my car, this was an interesting experience. It really is a very tactile experience to run your bare hands over your car like this. You can really feel the flow of the Jaguar lines. The wax buffed up to a really lusturous shine. It remains to be seen how long lasting it is. I'll keep everybody updated on this.

All in all, it was very satisfying to see my car looking this good. I also learned that whatever Dave charges for one of his detailing jobs, it's probably not enough!

Hey govatos, I too am into doing the type of detailing you describe, spending hours and hours to make her look the best she can, so I appreciate what you say.
Your ride looks awesome and shining like a new penny, great looking ride to start with but even better bo doubt after the many hours you put in.
Thanks for sharing
