Dumb wax question

I have done this many times. As a matter of fact, it's routine for me. It's easier to let it dry overnight than to fight the water in the nooks and crannies of a car right after a wash job. Waiting allows for a smooth application. I just look the surface over and be sure nothing gritty has somehow landed on any flat surfaces.

There is no problem with doing this. Start at the roof, and wipe it down with a microfiber towel prior to applying the wax. Then gently wipe off each area you do next prior to putting on the wax. This ensures a completely dust free surface to minimize surface contamination while applying wax.
