Ferrari Dino 246 GT The beggining of a new life for this prancing horse..
I wanted to share this current project that we did this last week with others here on Jaguarforums. I was asked to provide my services today on a "Mild" restoration being performed on this beautiful 70's Ferrari Dino GT. The gentleman performing this job hired me to provide a complete undercarriage, chassis and suspension detail. As you can see the tire/wheels were removed and the Ferrari hoisted for the best access. The motor was completely removed by the owner prior to transporting it which gave us more room as well.
With a combination of degreasers, many types of brushes, steam and a pressure washer, everything was very thoroughly cleaned, degreased and ready for the restoration to begin. Here are some photos of the project, I took over 200 so I will add them a bit at a time.

The prep and bagging of components begins

Cover and wrap fuse panel and electronics to protect from moisture

Tools and ammunition

Let the detailing begin

Dave thank you for sharing your work, please keep posting, possibly with a few tricks of the trade thrown in, especially for us owners of older cars.
Engine degreasing, bringing alloy wheels back to life, that sort of stuff, when appropriate to something you are working on.
Back to the Dino, will you be getting it back for further work after the restoration has been completed, before final delivery to the client?
Roughly how long in man hours does this type of a job take (if that is not an impertinent question).
We simply do not have your type of services over here, and it is a great pleasure to be able to see a professional such as yourself in action.
Thank you.

That's alot of work just to clean the undercarriage and suspension...what about getting it dirty again? Is this JUST for the restoration process, then let the client go dirty it up again?
Beautiful car, reminds me of the episode of Chasing Classic Cars and his yellow Dino.

At this point all I was asked to do was prep the undercarriage and suspension for a light restoration. I assume the shop I did the work for finished the wheel well and suspension paintwork. Between my wife who works with me and myself, we spent 3 hours on this job to complete.
Thank you again for your wonderful comments, I am glad you enjoy my work.
