great wheel cleaning tip
Hi Everyone,
Hope this is the proper place for this thread.
Finally got a beautiful day and decided to clean up my ride. Anyway, had some tar spots and road grime stains on my aluminum wheels and thought I'd use a "Magic Eraser" I bought at the dollar store. It worked awesome!!! Made my wheels look like new with very little effort. Also tried it on the chrome grill with excellent results.
Come on Summer!!!!

Hi there and thanks for sharing
I use "Autoglym Tar remover".... does exactly what it says on the bottle. My experience is to spray the affected area liberally and let it soak ( you can actually see the tar sissolve after a few minutes ) I then use a cloth soaked in the same solution.
Followed by a wash with warm soapy water afterwards and all is good
On a side note, Petrol is excellent for this job also but again the car must be washed in warm soapy water afterwards and protection added.

The Magic Eraser is a great thing. Just don't put it on anything painted.
I used to spray a 50/50 mix of mineral spirits and water--until the stuff got so expensive when they renamed it paint thinner.
I recently had to have 3 aluminum wheels refinished/repainted. Now, the 4th wheel has a bunch of stains. After the XK8 is in order, I'll probably get a HVLP touch up paint gun and repaint all of them.
It's very hard to go the lifetime of a painted aluminum wheel without repainting them.
