Just under 2000 mi this weekend went to the shore parked in the hotel lot some jerk must have scraped my passenger door with a beach chair.
It's about a 2 in scratch I can feel it with my nail it's in the paint I'm pissed, can it come out?

just found it today my front bumper the plastic fender , some ******* must have swiped with a beach chair . two spots scraped the paint off. i guess i have to get it painted .
Brought it to my dealer they looked at it and said they can repaint the bumper, should I ? Will that bring the resale price lower to have a replayed bumper?

jcamp,
While minor scratches like this are annoying, these are common minor wear and tear type items that are bound to occur - even though I know this occurred only after she had about 2000 miles on he clock. My guess is that if you take it to a certified repair center to have the scratch repaired then the resale value shouldn't really be affected that much, if at all. I think the resale value would be impacted if you replaced a body panel or bumper, as the original parts each have VIN stickers that trace the parts back to the original car. With this, I think you'll be O.K.

If I was buying, then this type of repair would not put me off. I would tell me that the owner cares about the car's appearance.
Sadly, scrapes happen, so how many times are you likely to need a minor bumper scratch repainted over your ownership.
What happened with the door?

thank god the door buffed out, the bumper had the paint chipped in 2 spots, the size of a nickel and the 2nd a size of a quarter.Originally Posted by Translator
