Just thought I'd share my experience with a good product: Turtle Wax Black Detailer - Turtle Wax

I tried this today on my Midnight Black Metallic XK8, and the results are astounding. It looked a little hazy for a while after I applied it, probably because of the cool temperature today (upper 50's), however within a few minutes it dried to a mirror like finish. I've never seen black paint look so deep and shiny. With ~55k miles there are quite a few small chips in the paint on the front end, however after using this none of them are visible from more than a couple feet away, and most have vanished completely.

 

I don't have a black car but do have a dark gray Yukon (SUV) and a black F-350.
I bought some Meguiar's Color X for my detailer to use on my car. She looks good but
I'm just wondering if it will reveal something even better.

So happy to have a young fella who does my detailing for me.

I'll let you know about the Color X. I think my car is getting detailed today.

 

a word of advice: although this stuff works great and comes off easily when the temperature is warm, it's not so easy to buff in 50F weather, as I just discovered after spraying the entire exterior.
