Default Wheel Lathe alloy wheel repair performed on an AMG wheel.

Thought I would post this video I put together of one of the services that I offer my customers...

Have you ever had an encounter with the curb on your nice alloy wheels? Only to have the edge of your wheel chewed up gauged. So for my clients I have this service to offer......

The "Wheel Lathe" which enables us to repair the wheel with out removing it from the vehicle or dismounting it from the tire. The alternative is replacement which can be costly, and is not necessary for this type of cosmetic damage.

nice work Dave, great job
I can see how the wheel lathe certainly helps to speed up the process too.

Thanks Jim.......Definitely helps speed up and make a more clean, uniform repair. Seen so many wheel guys jack up and flip the wheel round and round by hand to simulate what can be done with this Wheel Lathe...

Thanks Jaggyx.....Generally a service like this can run a customer about $150.00 dollars per wheel for a clean repair.

Thanks Cadillac.......Customer was very pleased with the job, only one of them had a big digger, but it still came out nice...

Have a great day!

Wow. Tht's a great idea. Not quite what I expected when I saw the word "lathe". Was expecting a large piece of kit with cutters etc but having watched the video it all makes sense.

Well done.

Picked up a 06 STR a few weeks ago, has some serious curb rash. would like to repair and paint or powdercoat matte black. I did same on my Carrera but no damage on wheels just black powder coat (see pic). Is this something you can do?

Jeff,

Thank you for the call today regarding your Jaguar's wheels.....I would be more than happy to take care of the curb rash for you, as for the change in color the best bet would be to powdercoat as we discussed. I just spoke to my buddy Bill at First Place Powder Coating give him a call and tell him I referred you.....he does some great work out there in Banning.

@Dave, the video link at the top now wants me to sign in to a YouTube account, rather than simply playing as it used to.

Richard,

Unfortunately the gentleman that I work with who invented and patented this Wheel Lathe asked me to hide it from the public on my Youtube channel . Because it is his intellectual property I have to respect this request.......If you like I can send you an invite to view it privately......

thanks for understanding....

I'm good Dave, I had already watched the video a few times when you first posted it back in the summer.

Odd that your colleague doesn't want the free publicity that could have been generated for his patented machine.

Still, his wishes must be respected.

If you get to work on Jeff's car please post up, in the usual manner. LOL
