Default New Jag 3.0 diesel

Be nice to hear from anyone with real experience of the new 3litre diesel, which from the net I understand is both more powerful and more economical of diesel. Peugeot-Citroen are also using their version already.

+1 on that Leedsman

I had the 3.0 XJ a few months ago, but only for an hour or so unfortunately. In that time it seemed smooth, responsive and powerful enough to waft that baby along nicely. Unfortunately an hour goes by sooo quickly and when you've just had XKR 5.0 Supercharged V8 Convertible AND Coupe for a couple of hours each, you kinda miss things I guess

Suffice to say it was good but I'd welcome a real in depth review as well

Jag makes the 3L diesel cars.

now if they would make a 5L diesel car, that would be more interesting.

but at the future of diesel fuel, i may have my reservations.

maybe my old Opel 1.8 turbo, may fit after all, 40-42mpg US gal. in hot weather, that we have plenty of ,in summer.

I have driven the 3.0D XF on demo. The turbo lag has been removed and the drive seems sharper. I have not tried the S version and neither have I had a chance to get to grips with the consumption. My 2.7D certainly returns 43/4mpg on a run and I still manage 34/5 around town when driving carefully
