E-Pace Storage Do's Don't When Away for 4 months
Hopefully, this has been addressed before. We are going on a 3-4 month world cruise and will be leaving our E-pace stored in our apartment blocks secure garage area.
Any guidelines for maintaining the car whilst away, particularly related to batteries going flat - mine is already on the way out (see other threads on 'low battery' scenarios). Do I put in a new battery now or see if I can put it on a trickle feed charger and so on. If battery dies whilst I am away, will one have reprogramming or other issues.
Also does it matter if I don't leave much petrol in the tank. Do I need to get someone to run the engine for a while - always difficult when the car is under a cover to protect the paint.
Any suggestions and observations welcome. Thanks in advance JimL

I would skip the old school trickle chargers that require you to select the battery type.
Genius trickle chargers detect battery type, condition the battery and can be left on the car indefinitely.
I have had one on my 19 EPace for about 3 years. I strapped it under the hood and permanently connected it to the battery.
I just pop the hood, plug an extension cord into the genius and I am done. I have numerous cars, so I have most of them on Genius trickle chargers as they don’t get many miles on them. For example, my EPace has 15k miles.
Here is the Genius on amazon:
Genius is designed for AGM and all other battery types.
As far as the car not starting for 30 days. No worries. My Jag sits for about 30-60 days all the time. But if you do that, the trickle charger MUST be connected the ENTIRE time.
You mentioned 4 months. I don’t think that would be a problem, as long as the battery never goes down on its charge.
