Jake recently got the chance to test the new E-PACE on and off road, and he had a blast. Watch the video below and check out his full review here!

It's a lot more fun to flog these off road when you don't have to worry about scratching them or breaking them... Ha ha!

I am surprised to see the baby ute wading through a stream like a champ. Interesting to note the dimensions 173"L x 78"W x 65"H are similar to the big F-Pace except shorter and wider. The height and clearance are the same (adjustable??)

Now how about a head-to-head with the Macan?

I dont like to say too much negative, and I had a drive in the 20d R sport (looked good) and my impressions were:
1. engine pretty gutsy with great launch;
2. interior meh compared to f type. It is more evoque with Jaguar affectations. The XE is nicer IMO (I appreciate I am swimming against the tide on this as the reviews have it that it is very nice, I disnt really agree);
3. steering is good;
4. ride is awful, it positively bounces along when it hits a bump. Maybe the rims were too big;
5. better to drive than an evoque but that isnt saying much;
6. XE, XF are enormously better to drive. F Pace too;
7. overall, if you wanted a demonstration why sedans are so much better to drive than SUV's, test drive an XE and an E Pace back to back.

One caveat is that it could be a car greatly affected by wheel choice. This one had big rims.

But Americans love the high-body 'cars' they can see better and feel safer.

I think we can safely conclude Jaguar's luxurious wood-and-leather interiors have been replaced by tech-and-sport.

I can understand that, I am getting tired of not being able to see past or around the car in front myself. My plans for the F Pace SVR however have been dashed by opposition from the family, a drive of the E Pace convinced me that it would be a big step back from the XE for my missus (who loves the XE anyway), and after a recent track day my love of the F Type has renewed.

I prefer the stance of this over the F-Pace...
