67 EType "Stored" in 1989
Hi All
I am hoping someone may have referrals for professional assessment and mobile mechanics in the St Louis, Mo area.
I read with interest about the etype " cant stay in storage forever". I drove a 67 etype convertible I couldnt bear to sell into storage in 1989 before heading overseas to live. Being back living in the US, I saw the car again 6 months ago. I was surprised that once the cover was removed it looked pretty good. However, I had to fly in since I dont live in the area and the aerosol tire repair cans did not go into the tires ( which surprisingly still had some air). With the handbrake released and the car in neutral i couldnt move it. Seemed like the wheels had seized.
I bought this car in 1982 from the original owner in San Diego in good working order. I wanted too get it to show shape but was in the navy and never found the time. It needed a new clutch , respray to the original healy blue and other cosmetic issues but it was a solid rust free car (great sound and acceleraton) . I last drove it from New Orleans to illinois in 1985.
I am now undecided whether to hold or sell this car. I dont have garage space for it. If I do sell I would like to get fair value for it. So the comment on a professional apparaisal makes sense. I am not keen to deal with flippers. Any thoughts on how best to sell?
In any event I need to get the wheels unfozen so the car can be moved out of storage. I am really only a tinkerer and manual follower so a reliable mobile mechanic who can help me with any handbrake, stuck drum or frozen clutch issues would be very helpful.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

You might try Daniel Schmitt Company in St Louis for an appraisal. We bought a Jaguar XJS years ago from them when stationed at Scott AFB across the river and found them to be easy to work with and felt they were honest. I wish I could afford it, but have an E-Type in pieces right now!
