The original drivers/left side view mirror seems to be losing its silvering in a small spot. What is the recommendation for replacement? A specialist or competent glass shop?

 

In my area (Daytona Beach), not a single glass shop would replace the side mirror for 68 FHC. Residential mirror glass is not the same as automotive mirror glass, and at least in Florida it is illegal to replace automotive mirror with residential. So I had to purchase a complete replacement unit. Not even the automotive glass shops would cut a mirror for me.
