Default Body panels between series

Hi, All,

I am restoring a series 3, 2+2, which has the usual rust in the typical locations. Does anybody know what body panels are interchangeable between a series 2 and a series 3?

Specifically, I can get patch panels for the series 2 inner rear wheel arches (where the panel meets up with the boot floor) but not as easily for the series 3. Are these panels compatible between the series? Also, the top rear bulkhead panel. Same thing, in terms of availability: yes for the series 2 but not for the series 3.

Any ideas?

Thanks

The man who would know what is compatible or not is Martin Robey, who will make you a complete body shell !!

The Series 3 2+2 was based on the Series 2 2+2 shell, but the outer wings have flared wheel arches as the wheels and tyres are wider. What other body shell changes were made I don't know.

Thank you for the info, Fraser! I will check in with Martin Robey - I've been getting my replacement panels from them, anyway. :-)

Default Here's a USA source

You may want to contact Chuck at Monocoque Metalworks:

https://www.monocoque-metalworks.com/main/

He also has a series on YouTube and has done AMAZING things for Es. He appears to be truly dedicated to helping Es survive and has made great efforts to provide just about any panel needed. He will also customize a panel for you. He is in northeastern Maryland, which would also help with shipping costs if you are also in the US.

I wrote him with a very low-level inquiry about the passenger door hinge and he was kind enough to reply and provide help/suggestion.

Thanks, Valerie. I did check with Chuck at Monocoque. Unfortunately, he didn't know. He has more experience with the Series 1s and 2s.

But, great idea. Thank you!
