Question Certificate of Authenticity

Hi all,
I want to get a certificate of authenticity for my 1968 E-Type. Can someone point me in the right direction where to apply for such a thing?
Also, how much and what type of information is included in the certificate?
Thanks in advance.
Bill.

Bill:

The Jaguar Heritage Certificate for an E-type typically includes the following data:

- model
- body style (Coupe or OTS)
- specification (LHD of RHD)
- exterior color
- interior color
- hood color (if OTS)
- VIN/chassis number
- body number
- engine number
- gearbox number
- date built
- date dispatched
- main distributor
- first owner (if known)

I hope this helps.

Alan

Hi again guys,
Thanks for the information on obtaining a certificate of authenticity. It seems the form to get one directs me to a site in the UK. Is there an entity in the US that issues the certificate?
Thanks,
Bill.

Being a bit picky but I don't think a Heritage Certificate is quite the same as a Certificate of Authenticity.

When you apply for a Heritage Cert you'll give information of the car (body number, engine number, and the like) and you get back a certificate with the information already mentioned. But, nobody actually looks at the car itself.

Seems to me that a CoA would be the result of someone looking at the car and certifying that it really IS the car listed on the Heritage Certificate

IMO

Cheers
DD

Ok, so now I am confused. Perhaps I didn't explain my self correctly. What I am looking for is a document from the factory confirming what engine, gearbox number, etc... came originally from factory in my specific car. Is that not what is provided by Jaguar heritage? And If they don't, is there an entity that does?
Thanks.
Bill.

The Heritage Certificate from Jaguar Heritage provides the above information. You can then compare it with what you have actually got in the car.

Thank you, Alan,
I am glad to see that a picture is still worth a thousand words.
