Default Door won't stay open?

The passenger door on my 1971XKE S3 won't stay open wo holding it open. This door had a squeak and I decided to oil the hinge and since then I have to hold it to keep it completely open. I tried to spray the hinge later with carb cleaner to see if that helped but it didn't. Any idea how to resolve this problem?

I found the problem. When the car was restored they didn't put the Strap Check piece back. This is a metal piece that is about 1"x4" (guess) that holds the door open.
