what year, and I think it is one year only, E-Types had a small rectangular
chrome jag cat badge on each side of the bonnet, down low just behind the front wheels ???

If any of them did come from the factory that way it will be called out in those guides. I'd start with the Series III as that kind of badge feels really 70s.

That emblem was on the late S2 4.2 cars (1971 MY).
