Well so far i really like it . though un-finished mechanically

 

I saw the Foose E-Type at SEMA this week. As all things Foose,it was perfectly executed. Beautiful color, perfect paint and interior, and tasteful body modifications. It was difficult to look through the louvers on the bonnet but it looked like a V8 in the engine bay and I thought that was predictable and done. He could have done without the scoop in the bonnet as I think it takes away from the overall smoothness of the whole body design. Still, a beautiful car that was beautifully executed.

And given it is a Series III it should be a very nice driver. Looking forward to seeing the mechanicals.

I don't think it is a series III. When you see it in person it is not as long or as big as a series III. It really looks like a series 1 or 2 car.
If this car started as a series III, Chip did a lot of editing on the body.

At 1 minute 4 seconds in it says this is a 1974 XKE that's a Series III (Series II ended in 1971), and the bonnet is clearly a modified Series III bonnet.

Overall I like it, but I agree that the hood scoop is probably a step backward and I don't think the grate type grille works. The reflections of the spokes in the rims of the very large and deep wire wheels take away from the otherwise clean lines and look too "aftermarket" for my taste. I really like the rear end, and like everything Chip does, the quality looks amazing.

Thanks, Don! At 525 HP in this car that's 100 over my build and I'm worried about the frame taking 425 HP. Now I really want to see what they did to ensure that kind of power doesn't twist the frame. It has to be an LS engine given how they did the hood, for forward scoop would match up to an LS intake. I went with a built period correct 327 which is why my power bulge had to be lifted in the back but not the front. I was feeling like I screwed up by not going with a new engine design but, given what they did to the power bulge, now I feel better with my decision.

I don't see any in-cabin storage either which would get kind of old really quickly. I also don't see a parking brake, I couldn't mount mine either so going electric if I can get it to fit. Damn, really wish I'd gone to the show this year. I've been struggling with an exhaust treatment, this looks like the best I've seen so far for the size pipe I need.
