Default gear box leak around speedo angle drive?

You would think a hack like myself could at least stop a leak from around the angled gear drive on my '73 Ser3 E. So far, I haven't been able to stop a large leak even after replacing the gear housing, washers and internals. Anyone have the key to this? Leak is "coffee can" size after setting overnight. leak began when I replaced the drive recently. Used NOS, I thought. Thanks!

The angle drive screws into the speedometer gear "bullet". The bullet has two seals, an inner shaft seal and an outer o-ring. Both seals are available from the usuals. You need to unbolt the bullet and pull the assembly out in order to replace the seals.
