When I disassembled the rear engine mount from the tail of the gear box on my '71 FHC it certainly was not to standard.
Working with the assembly drawings from SNGB I have ordered or machined all the parts to put it right.
The question I have regards the Gearbox Stud (part C21336). There is a cross drilled hole in the end but no indication if there is supposed to be a pin or bolt or what when it is assembled.
Any chance someone could provide a photo of how the assembly is finished in the car?
Thanks
Jim
It has been some time since I accessed the rear mount but I do remember reassembling it (vaguely). Attached is a photo showing the mount with the engine removed and on a test stand. I did nothing with the hole you asked about and know of no use for it. Perhaps another reader knows more about it.
Thanks for the photo. An answer on another forum was that the hole is used for a split ring that hold everything together during assembly and is then removed when the mount is secure to the car.
