Hard Top Construction
The 1970 roadster project car I have has a hardtop that has been identified as an original top. I’m strictly a soft top guy and don’t want it so will eventually put it up for sale to help fund the restoration . I wondering if I should take the time to refurbish the seals etc and finish it in primer ready for the next owner to match his car or just flip it rough as it is.
I have a Series 2 black hard top that is for sale. I am getting ready to replace the rear window, since the orignal is fogged. When replaced it will be in perfect condition.

Craft ..alternatively you might consider having your rear window polished out. This is something that is routinely done on many marine windows that are plexi or similar materials and not glass. Tha'ts what I am going to have done to mine. Just a thought.
I have a factory hardtop for my series 1 E type and can't get the chrome surround rear window trim to stay tucked into the slot in the rubber window gasket at the corners. Do not want to be riding down the road and lose one of these hard to find chrome trim pieces. Are there any DIY type people out there that have any suggestions how to attach the chrome in the corners, like try some silicone sealant?
I think that a bit of silicone adhesive in the corners might help. Also putting a slight bend on the chrome trim can be helpful. If all else fails, you might want to take the car to an automotive glass repair shop as I am pretty sure they'll know what to do.
Good luck.
Good luck.
