I need to replace my positive battery cable. Currently has a clamp type connector & I am seeing helmet type from the Jag parts suppliers. Does the helmet type need a special battery or can it be used on modern battery posts? Never seen one before, so I don't know how the screw tightens. Thanks

 

Yes, you can use a helmet type cable on any standard battery. Simply drill a small hole vertically into the battery post and use a small screw to hold the helmet in place.

Unless you going for concours I'd stay with the clamp type battery cable. It has a far more positive connection and is easy to remove.
