For those who wonder, jgair is the judges guide for 1955-77 air conditioning systems. The link I got sent me to the jcna website and costs $44 but I got a download on you-tube for free. That being said there was no picture of my jags air cond. belt adjuster pulley mount. There was a picture of early and late air cond brackets and serial numbers coinciding with them. In Dr. Thomas F haddocks' restoration guide, (which also shows no picture of the pulley mount), by searching through the chronology of serial #s, I narrowed my left hand drive 1969 2+2 jags' IR41681 SN to be a May build since that's the month the perforated upholstery was introduced and in June they changed the hood lift springs to a gas filled cylinder and in August the Air cond. bracket was changed. My jag has perforated upholstry,
later bracket and pulley for air conditioner fan belt
hood springs and the early air cond. bracket. That being established, the jcna jag guide shows my jags serial # to be either a early right hand drive or a late left hand,(pic shown) I am now thoroughly confused and still without a clear picture of the pulley mount I need to fabricate. I have some clues though, from a partial picture from a persons restoration and one other from a top picture showing the orientation of the pulley in proper adjustment slightly to the right of the alternator pulley. Thing is MY piece may not be close enough to OEM for judging since I still have not seen the WHOLE part. I guess I'll have to hope that out there SOMEWHERE there is a PICTURE of the part I need. Boy do I now regret losing the one I had. Thanks for all the help to everyone! Bud, P.S., there are plenty of pics of the later adjusting pulley and bracket.

Buddy I assume the pirated copy you got also had the appendix? Sorry to see folks think they can download hard work by folks (in this case my work). It puts a chilling effect on those folks willing to do work. I do not rec. money but it does support the clubs so since I allow only the club to produce the guide that one is STOLEN! that said if you have the appendix the pictures and drawings are all in there!
So then, If I'm a member, Why did you send me to pay for it? AND if It is yours? Why couldn't you have uploaded the pics to help me out? $44 for a picture and then put the rest on a shelf? Seems we know who was trying to help who. If you recall, I uploaded to these forums completely documented step by step pictures and explicit detailed text, the removal and replacement of an XJS convertible top. How much time and effort do you think that took? I actually could have published that compilation, as there is now no other place to get it but on these forums. I'm sorry you have the need to raise the cost of owning a vintage jag. I feel the need to lower it! Bud
