touch screen is not responding to touch

2001 with nav.display, the screen is not responding to touch started to act up intermittently then finally touching is not effective anywhere on the screen, everything else seems to be functioning correctly, any help is appreciated.

it something the dealer has to diag. it can be the screen itself.
