Default missing cjeck valve? in oil canister housing

hi- 69 e type- series 2. later model. took oil canister off to change oil- the is a round hole at 9 oclock where i believe oil comes thru to go to oil filter... at approx 11 o'clock there is another hole- same size.i belive there should be a check valve in this location? i can ind no info on this at all- just one pic onthe internet. so now i believe with this hole completley open dirty oil is circulating thru my engine.. so you e type owners that change your oil know what i am talking about? should i plug this hole with a plug? can i still get the proper valve? thanks

Wink Yup!

You'll find few answers in the E-type section. I own a 69 also but I recently changed the filter, if I hadn't I would look for you but, that thin little o ring is one pain in the butt to seal properly. I have a service book, that probably will show some pictures. Will that help? Let me know, Bud

For later Series 2:
JA-11672 - Relief Valve E-Type, XJ6 S1

For earlier Series 2:
JA-2714 - Valve & Spring E-Types, MK II 3.4 From KG.4675, Etc.

Incidentally, rudeness is not often a successful life strategy.....
