push button starter problem

Default push button starter problem
1964 XKE started fine last fall, sat for winter & now pushing starter button does nothing. Replaced dead battery & still nothing. With ignition on can hear fuel pump humming away. When pushing starter button nothing happens but I think I feel a slight ***** in my finger, like a minor shock. Any help on what I can do to get the button working is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi See,
I had a similar problem with my 67 OYS. I replaced the starter button and the issue was resolved.

Try giving the button a twist or push and twist. Also try the button on the solenoid under the hood.
