Cracked starter button on 2011 XJK

Cracked starter button on 2011 XJL
Yesterday as if by magic my starter button was cracked. Inexplicable to me. I found some apparent replacements in eBay both matching and creative.
Can anyone guide me as to how hard a fix this is? I was hoping it would pop out or unscrew from the console and the replacement would slot in. I don’t want to mess anything up. I haven’t checked with my mechanic yet.
