Question Reinstalling the bonnet on a S1 E Coupe

I had to remove the bonnet on my car for some front end work. It didn't fit that well to begin with (out of alignment). I now have new shims to use and was hoping for some guidence from those who have done this. Is there a procedure to follow that will give me good results. I know it is going to be difficult.

Thanks in advance.

I've done this several times with no real difficulty. It takes two people, best is three. Set a towel in front to protect the bumpers and line up the hinges, slip the bolts in and plug in the electrics and its done. Now, if it is not aligned properly...put in on and see where is it off. You can shim it in and out or up and down at the hinge bracket, but you need to have it on to see which way to go. Protect the paint with towels at the sides and cowl areas. If the fenders and center section are off, that’s a more challenging alignment requiring a professional!

Bill,

OK, thanks. Doesn't sound so bad.
