Hi all,
my dad had a collection of old wooden trim and these other larger pieces he salvaged off of some old Jaguar (not sure model or year, hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction). I didn’t know if anyone could help me identify them or know someone who might want them. I have a whole box of wooden trim pieces not pictured. Please let me know! Thanks
I am pretty sure that is off a MK1 Jaguar saloon (1954 to 1959) and most likely off a 3.4 automatic.
The automatic selector is under the centre dash. If it was a 2.4 there would also be a manual choke selector in the blanked off chrome strip.
The right-hand side is the bottom photo and should have a glove box lid.
The second photo down is the left-hand side, and that compartment does not have a lid.
Actually, that wood is in very good condition and would be very valuable to anybody restoring a MK1 Saloon.
I have restored a number of MK1s and still have one in my possession. MK1 Saloon. This is a 1957 2.4 litre MK1 dash panel for right hand drive. Ignore the upper cant rail which is off a Mk2 while I was refinishing the correct MK1 rail.
I just remembered I had this photo of a left-hand drive MK1 saloon which was brought out from Holland by a friend when he emigrated to Australia.
It has been converted to right hand drive but still has left hand drive woodwork.
