Default F-type convertible mysterious trim piece

I just purchased my first Jaguar! A gorgeous 2014 F-type S in Firesand Orange.

In the boot, I found a trim piece that I, nor the local Jaguar parts manager can determine where it goes.

The dealer parts schematic indicates its a RH trim piece at the base of the convertible top location. Part #: EX53-280F50-A

I've attached photos; of trunk, behind the RH seat into the area the schematic indicate, and the part itself.

Any detectives out these that could determine where this part goes?

so its part 20. I suspect you may need to remove your boot liner to replace it so hardly worth doing unless you are OCD.

Ha! That's what the Jag Parts Manager thought, after we'd expired all options. And, he said the same thing! Thanks for the insight.

That piece covers the wiring harness directly below the moveable side flaps on the driver's side (in the US) of the car so that the roof movement won't accidentally pinch any of the harness. If you open the roof, let it retract completely to the stowed position but stop it while the moveable side flaps are still up and vertical. You can then reach down in on the driver's side and reattach it. It just has the push-plug in the center and you should see the hole for it just above the wiring harness that runs down through there.

I was able to find the correct location and secure the part into place. Really appreciate the insight. Thank you very much!
