Sticky Clutch
My friend has a 1967 E type. He recently replaced the clutch slave cylinder because of a leaky seal. Since that time he has a new problem with the clutch.
The pedal travel is smooth and pressing the pedal disengages the clutch just fine. Transmission goes into gears fine.
The problem occurs when the clutch pedal is released. There is a pause before the clutch engages and the car moves. We bled the system several times.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Could be the clutch slave cylinder is returning too slowly or there is no free-play in the slave actuating rod. Try watching it from underneath while someone operates the clutch. When the clutch pedal is released the clutch fork should return pretty quickly.
Check the return spring on the slave is correctly attached and there is slight play in the slave actuating rod before the clutch pedal is pressed. The length of the rod is easily adjusted from underneath (as long as you don't mind grovelling around on the floor ....)

It could also be the rubber flex line comming apart internally and restricting the fluid transfering out of the slave cylinder back into the master cylinder and resivor as quickly as the pedal is released. There could be other restrictions such as the master cylinder rubbers or a pinched solid lne, but the old hose is the most likely. Of course we are assuming that all the linkages are nicely aligned and lubed. Good luck
