Default Transmission cover… shifter rebuild

Dear members,
I have purchased all the soft bits to rebuild the shifter portion of the transmission… also called the cover. I am ready to start but would love to find someone’s write-up about how to do it. There are three shifter shafts that slide the forks forward and backward… two with forks (1/2) and (3/4) plus the shaft for reverse. It looks like they need to come out and back in a certain order. Plus a square headed bolt seems to stake these shafts in place. My manual has no info. I have found it through searches yet. I know someone has here has done it and can clue me in. Gratefully yours, Tob
