I have a question on the voltage regulator for the instruments.
If my reading of the circuit diagram is correct then the oil gauge and the battery indicator runs of 12 volts, with the water temp gauge and the fuel gauge run on the lower voltage.
If I am right is there a reason for running the wires thru the regulator

You are right but do not add these 2 gauges to the voltage regulator output. The volt meter will read 10.7v and the oil pressure will, I think, not be accurate. In any case, they will overload the regulator.
Thank you
I am new to the E type, many quick fixes have been done over the years, I’m just slowly gong thru them.
this all started with a coolant overheat, I was hoping it was just indication.
