xke/ period mufflers?
I am looking somewhere to get XKE mufflers or similar like XK140s or something. some kind of straight through glasspack muffler.
Anyone know of a place to get some of these?
I want to replace the mufflers on my XJS and don't want to just go buy 20 dollar glasspacks from Pep boys, Id rather stick with something like this.
thanks all

Hi
XKE and XK140 mufflers are very different.
140 ones are large units and, even if straight-through, give a rather "civilised" note. Both lines are totally separate and the silencer (muffler) is the only thing there is between manifold and open air.
XKE are much smaller units which give a harsher sound, which is however "rounded" by a resonator at the end of each line. In my case the glasspack in the main silencers has burnt away with time and it gives a loud and raspy sound.
Although it is a question of personal taste, I would think the XK140 sound is more adapted to the character of the XJS.
You may be limited in your choice by the actual space available under the car. I don't know XJS in detail, suggest you make precise measurements and make sure bracketry fits.
Best regards.
