I want to wrap my splitter on the front bumper and maybe my side mirrors.
Who makes the best, most realistic looking carbon fiber wrap material?
Can you point me to a vendor on the 'Bay?

I think the 3M 1080 looks pretty good. Check out post #25 in this thread:
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...r-88734/page2/
I got some from Metro Restyling on ebay. Their prices are maybe not the best but they ship fast.
My little project was to wrap my rather shabby looking coil pack covers.
Before: Sunburned and paint rubbed off

After: Awesome looking embossed carbon fiber logo

On the motor:

I just got it together and have NO idea how it will hold up to the heat, but it was fairly cheap and easy to do. Looks pretty good too, if I do say so.
I recommend using a heat gun and not to be in a hurry. It takes a little practice and I probably have a couple hours in those covers (but they are a pretty complex shape).

How did you achieve the 3d effect? Is it just the original thick lettering?

The film itself has an embossed pattern to look like carbon fiber.
The Jaguar lettering is just some hand work with the heat gun to form the film around the original (gray painted) raised lettering.

Oh, I see.
On looking more closely, the coil cover is different from the one on the X308. Those have metal letter decals. And the 'R' on mine has a broken leg ;(

I have been thinking about this:
-- My Dip Kit - DIY Do It Yourself Water Transfer Printing Camo Dip Kit.

How is this holding up to the heat? I have purchased replacement covers (used from ebay) to wrap, but can't decide on vinyl or real CF. Vinyl will be cheaper, but the real thing looks better IMO.
