Hi guys, yesterday morning I went to drive but the parking brake wouldn't come off. I managed to get it off after a quick Google search by putting the car into neutral and holding down the parking brake button.
Started getting warnings ln the dash ( see photos) and then got a warning saying 'Electrical fault detected Stop Safely'.
I have tried disconnecting the battery, leaving for 10 mins and reconnecting but that didn't do anything. I have checked the battery and it isn't low.
Not terribly familiar with the hybrid version of the F-Pace, but I think you have a hybrid battery and a standard battery. In the non-hybrid, it would be the standard battery is dead, maybe this is the same issue in the hybrid when the standard battery is failing, it starts shutting down modules to save power and safety features. (both the high voltage batteries and the low voltage battery need to function correctly)
It’s not enough to check the voltage. Use a good battery tester that can do AGM and check for CCA’s. If your’s is down around 500 or lower CCA’s then the car will not be happy.
What voltage is the battery when the car is off? How long have you had the battery and is it the correct AGM type? Have you had it load tested at a shop?
Those sort of errors are typical of a weak and failing 12V battery. The critical electrical fault one can sometimes also point to issues with the alternator. But - if you got it plus other errors with electrics I would start with the battery
Post back the voltage when car is off. And suggest you have it load tested. If it's more that 3 years old you might just want to proactively replace it - a good one is a couple of hundred dollars and 10 minutes of your time to swap it out.
